Granite is a common type of felsic intrusive igneous rock that is granular and phaneritic in texture.Granites can be predominantly white,pink,or gray in color,depending on their mineralogy.Granite is used in buildings, bridges, paving, monuments, and many other exterior projects. Indoors, polished granite slabs and tiles are used in countertops, tile floors, stair treads and many other design elements.Granite is the most widespread of igneous rocks, underlying much of the continental crust. Granite is an intrusive igneous rock. Granite is mined as either crushed stone or dimension stone mainly using open pit mining methods.
